Ballades and Birds

And since I missed his last tag, and because I like Eduardo, I shall oblige.

1. What do you like most about where you live?

I have come to appreciate the mountains more than I thought I could. I especially like the sunrise, that explosion of sun over the ridge, or the rise of a bright moon illuminating the sky just behind the delination of high and low places.

2. Is there anything strange about where you live?

I think most of you can presume.

3. What’s one of your all-time favourite music albums, and why?

It’s a tie between Chopin: Ballades, Barcarolles, Fantaisie performed by Krystian Zimerman and Chopin: Préludes & Sonata No. 2 performed by Martha Aregrich. These soothe me no matter the impetus.

4. Did you have a passion for something as a kid that you still have now? (If not - what is one of your passions now?)

I loved birds and would pass many summer hours sitting in trees and watching them, learning to mimic their calls. I recognize very few birds in the West, but still find myself catching a Red-Tail keeping sentry, and it is just as exciting and comforting to see as it was when I was seeking solice earlier in my life. The first time we spotted one here, I told the girls that they followed us to keep watch while we lived in the desert.
